Photos circulating on Chinese social media appear to show China’s first manned tiltrotor aircraft during its maiden flight. The origin and date of the images remain unclear, though they only recently surfaced on social media. One photo shows the tiltrotor inside a hangar, with a second prototype visible behind it.
Ukrainian Forces Strike Nikolskoe Oil Pumping Station in Russia, Disrupting Pipeline Flow
Ukrainian forces carried out a strike on the Nikolskoye oil pumping station in Russia’s Tambov region on Monday, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. The attack, conducted by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces in coordination with other branches of the Defense Forces, sparked a fire at the facility and forced a shutdown of oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline.
Air Force Chief of Staff to Retire After Two Years
Gen. David W. Allvin, the Air Force’s top officer since 2023, will retire this fall after serving only half of the typical four-year term, the service announced Monday.According to the Air Force press release, Allvin will step down on or about Nov. 1 but remain in the post until a successor is confirmed. No reason was given for his early retirement. A formal retirement ceremony with full honors is scheduled for Allvin later this fall.
